Patriotic Cake

For quite some years now, its been a tradition in our household to make a "flag cake."  This cake has become one of the favorite treats we all look forward to all year.
It's cool and sweet and fruity...the perfect cake for a hot Independence Day!

Ingredients:
Boxed cake mix (we usually use vanilla cake or white cake)
Eggs, oil, and water as called for by boxed mix
White frosting
Whipped topping
Strawberries, quartered
Blueberries

Directions:
Bake cake according to box directions in a 13x9 inch baking pan.  Let cool COMPLETELY.

Meanwhile, in a bowl, mix together half of a small tub of whipped topping with half a tub of white frosting until well incorporated.  Once the cake has cooled, spread the frosting mixture on top of the cake.  Make a rectangle of blueberries in the upper left hand corner to create the "field of stars".  Then make several lines of strawberries, making sure to leave some white space inbetween to create the "stripes" of the flag.  Enjoy!  Store in refrigerator...IF there's any left.
